Here’s great news for all our clients! Clarion Home Inspections uses infrared cameras in all our home inspections – at no extra cost to you!
The use of infrared cameras (IR) is something that is fairly new in the home inspection industry. It involves using heat sensitive cameras to detect differences in the surface temperatures of the various components of a home. It requires training and practice, but an experienced home inspector can use this information to detect all sorts of unseen problems, such as leaks, moisture, insulation issues, as well as plumbing and electrical issues that may be hidden to the naked eye.
Until these cameras became available a few years ago, home inspectors could do little more than guess about conditions concealed behind finished surfaces in a home. An infrared camera is a tool that helps to“see” many problems that were often missed during home inspections in the past.
Surprisingly, many other home inspection companies have yet to integrate IR technology into their business – possibly because of the high purchase costs of thermal imagers and the training required to become a certified operator. At Clarion Home Inspections, we believe our customers come first and that it is important to stay current with technologies that help improve our services. We use infrared cameras in all our home inspections and believe that any home inspection that does not include an infrared scan is incomplete.
